Volunteer

Who Are EARS' Volunteers?

  • People who believe in and practice responsible pet ownership.
  • People age 18 and up who have the desire and ability to function in one or more of the volunteer roles at EARS.
  • Young volunteers ages 14-17 who have a signed waiver from parent or guardian (volunteers in this category can spend up to 4 hours a day volunteering).

And any groups that meet the above criteria.

At EARS, our mission is to "rescue, care for and prevent cruelty to all domestic animals until they are adopted, or live out their normal, healthy lives". This work involves volunteers in many roles: from aspects of day-to-day operations of our administrative office, to working at fund-raising events, to providing humane education programs to the general public. EARS volunteers make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Hours

Volunteer hours depend on the type of role(s) a volunteer selects. Some offer more flexibility than others. EARS does depend on the reliability of volunteers. Please help us help the animals by always being dependable.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Foster Parents: Temporarily caring for rescued animals in your home
  • Matchmaker: Showing animals to prospective adopters
  • Administrative: Paperwork, mailings, computer work, answering telephones
  • Crafts: Making crafts at home to sell at fundraisers
  • Outreach: Speaking at diverse community forums, soliciting for donations, distributing information
  • Special Events: E.A.R.S. fund-raising events, festivals and fairs (on and off site)
